サンフランシスコを拠点に活動するフォトグラファー Carson Lancaster の、東京では初となる個展を開催します。

モノクロのフィルムカメラで多重露光撮影された人物写真のシリーズは、無色の背景と窓からの自然光のみを使い、フリーハンドで（三脚を使わず）カメラを反転させて、一枚のフィルムに複数回の撮影を重ねた作品です。撮影からフィルムの現像、プリントまで全ての工程をサンフランシスコにある自身のスタジオで行い、デジタル加工は一切ない作者の手による完全アナログ作品は、作者とともに地球を半分周ったここ東京で発表されます。自然の光と人体の曲線が持つ美しさ、アナログ写真の深みと温もりをぜひお楽しみください。

“I aimed to make use of nude photography in a way that had not been seen before. Using traditional photographic methods without any manipulation whatsoever. I created these photos using a plain white background, natural light from a window, and a camera with black and white film. I expose the sheet of film twice, the second shot is a hand held inversion, no tripod used. I shot, processed, and printed each photo in my studio in San Francisco and present them to you, the viewer, half way around the world.”
