“10 YEARS UNPLANNED”
2012年4月に開廊したTHE blank GALLERYは、この春で10周年を迎えます。遷り変わりの激しい原宿の地に場所を構えて10年、街も人もアート業界もカルチャーシーン全般においても、目まぐるしい変化を体感して来ました。通算で約150の企画展を通して、世代や国籍、バックグラウンドも幅広い400名を超えるアーティスト達が、この場所で作品を発表し、世界に発信して来ました。その多様性こそが、この激動の地と時代で10年間サバイヴして来られた強みだと感じています。
この節目を迎えるにあたり、10年間のギャラリーの歴史を凝縮したグループ展 “10 YEARS UNPLANNED” を開催します。過去にTHE blank GALLERYで作品を発表した作家から、2会期に分けて総勢50名(各ターム25名)が集結します。今回、参加が叶わなかった全ての作家をはじめ、これまでにご来場頂いた全ての皆様、関係者の皆様に感謝の意を表しつつ、この展示がこれからこの場所で出会う多くのアーティスト達への道標になればと思います。
